As recommended, sessions are typically 45 minutes long and scheduled twice a week on nonconsecutive days. This schedule helps students build momentum while allowing time to process between sessions.
That said, we know flexibility can make all the difference in a busy world. Once-a-week sessions may be a better fit depending on your child's needs and your family's schedule—we're happy to work with you to find the right pace.
We support learners from preschool through adulthood, tailoring instruction to each individual's stage and goals.
Our instruction is built on structured literacy and guided by the science of reading. We combine the following building blocks to structure lessons that are engaging and designed to meet each learner's unique needs.
• Phonemic awareness
• Systematic phonics
• Spelling instruction
• Fluency building
• Vocabulary development
• Comprehension strategies
Not at all. Many students come to us without a diagnosis but still need extra support in reading. If your child is in need of that extra support, we're here to help.
The length of time a child will need 1:1 tutoring depends on the child's individual needs.
Some students work with us for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term instruction. We'll keep you informed through regular check-ins and progress updates so we can adjust as needed.
We offer comprehensive literacy assessments that evaluate:
• Phonemic awareness
• Phonics knowledge
• Fluency and vocabulary
• Reading comprehension
• Encoding (spelling ability)
• Oral language skills
These insights guide our instruction, help families understand where their child stands, and how we can work together to move forward.
Most assessments take about 1 hour, depending on the student. If there is a need for longer evaluations, we break them into smaller, manageable sessions.
