Current Opportunities

Early Literacy Labs is growing—and we’re looking for compassionate, skilled educators to grow with us.

  • As we expand our services, we're seeking trained Orton-Gillingham practitioners who are committed to helping students thrive through structured, individualized instruction. If you believe in the power of expert teaching, targeted support, and relationship-driven learning, we'd love to hear from you.

    Location:

    • In-Person – Waitsfield, Vermont
    • Remote positions available

    Schedule: Part-time/Contract. Must be available during school hours at least part-time.

    Responsibilities:

    As a member of the instructional team, you'll help our students build strong literacy skills through compassionate, research-based instruction by:

    • Providing 1:1 or small group literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach and other structured literacy approaches
    • Designing individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's specific opportunities for growth
    • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction to ensure students are meeting their goals
    • Communicating with parents and caregivers regarding student growth and support needs
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student performance
    • Collaborating with fellow educators and support staff to ensure high-quality, consistent support for students

    Qualifications:

    We're looking for enthusiastic educators who bring both their experience and heart to work. Candidates will have:

    • Certification in Orton-Gillingham or equivalent credentials in a comparable structured literacy program
    • Experience working with students with dyslexia or other reading-related challenges
    • A strong understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A patient, flexible, and student-centered approach to teaching.
    • Experience with virtual tutoring platforms (if applicable).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in education, special education, or related fields.
    • Prior teaching or tutoring experiences, especially with elementary-aged students.

    Compensation:

    We offer competitive hourly rates, based on experience and credentials. Flexible scheduling options are available, including weekend hours to support work-life balance and supplemental teaching opportunities.
